EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. –The Minnesota Vikings selected defensive end Scott Crichton, of Oregon State, with pick No. 72 in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Crichton is listed at 6 feet 2 inches tall and 273 pounds. He left Oregon State after his junior season.

According to ESPN, he is known for a strong work ethic. He is a self-motivator and handles critiques well. He is above average against the run and in pass rush situations. He is an ideal fit for a 4-3 scheme, according to ESPN.

The pick was the Vikings first of two third-round selections. The second, No. 96, was part of the Percy Harvin trade with Seattle last year.
