ST. PAUL, Minn. - A St. Paul staple is closing its doors after 20 years.
The Wild Onion, a popular bar and restaurant on Grand Ave., will close its doors on March 31.
The restaurant announced the closure on its Facebook page, saying they were bought by Luke Shimp, owner of Red Rabbit/Red Cow. They say he plans to turn the space into a second Red Rabbit location. There's one currently in downtown Minneapolis.
But before they shut down for good, Wild Onion is going out with a bang.
The owners announced specials for their final six weeks in business, to say thanks to those who frequented the St. Paul spot.
"The final 6 weeks for the Wild Onion will be focused on showing appreciation and thanks to our loyal customers, neighbors, and past & present staff for all their support and patronage of our restaurant," the post reads. "Happy hour and half priced bottles of wine all day every day until we officially close! Thanks for the memories!"
