Woman charged with setting fire at downtown Mpls. Marshalls

Lewonda Jones is charged with first and second-degree arson stemming from the fire at Marshall's on July 15.

MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis Police say the woman they believe is responsible for a fire at a downtown department store last month has been arrested.

Lewonda Jones is charged with first and second-degree arson stemming from the fire at Marshalls on July 15.

On Aug. 3, MPD released images from security cameras asking the public for help identifying the individual wanted for questioning in relation to the fire. The investigator in the case received numerous tips identifying the female. The investigator was able to use the information received from the tips to gather more information and additional security video of Jones on the day of the fire.

Jones is currently in custody in Fargo, ND.
