BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Blooming Prairie woman, who's been missing since the shooting death of her husband.

A charge was filed in Dodge County District Court this week against 56-year-old Lois Ann Riess for felony theft. Investigators believe her husband, David Riess, was murdered at his home on March 23.

According to a news release from Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose, Lois Riess allegedly transferred nearly $10,000 from her husband’s business account into his personal account after his death.

Lois Riess then allegedly forged David's signature on three checks written from his personal account to herself, totaling $11,000. Investigators added Lois Riess does not have check-writing authority for either account.

In addition to the warrant on the felony theft charge, investigators continue to seek Lois Riess in hopes of speaking with her about the death of her husband. The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office found David Riess died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Sheriff Rose says Lois Ann Riess is 5’5”, 165 pounds with brown eyes and was last seen with light blonde hair, although she has altered her appearance in the past. She is likely driving a white, 2005 Cadillac Escalade, Minnesota license plate 864-LAE.

The public is urged to call 911 with information on her whereabouts. Lois Riess is known to frequent casinos.
