MINNETONKA, Minn. – After capturing a state title for the first time since 1974 last year, the Minnetonka boys’ tennis team is not skipping a beat this season.
“We lost a couple of players from last year,” said Minnetonka senior Ahmed Atayev. “But I think in general we are deeper this year.”
How deep are the Skippers? Not one player is ranked in the top ten individually at the moment, but Minnetonka is still the top-ranked team in Class 2A. The goal now is to make more history by winning back-to-back championships for the first time ever.
