Minnesota brands part of 'North Local Market' for Super Bowl 52

Local brands will be selling their products at City Center from Jan. 26 to Feb. 4 for Super Bowl 52.

MINNEAPOLIS -- In just days, visitors will start arriving in the Twin Cities for Super Bowl 52.

When they do get here, local businesses will have a chance to showcase their Minnesota-made products.

North Local Market will open this Friday and run through Feb. 4 at City Center in downtown Minneapolis.

"We have 37 local vendors—as in local makers, retailers, brands that give back and foodies—who will be here to showcase all of their products," said Mich Berthiaume, curator of the North Local Market.

The pop-up shops will take over the first two floors at City Center. Vendors started setting up on Saturday.

"I wanted to be a part of it just because this city will change so much for just 10 days and I can't wait to see it. I can't wait for people to experience how great we are," said Sarah Sweet, co-owner of i like you.

Clint VanHeel with Droolin' Moose said, "It's the Super Bowl. There's going to be a lot of people down here. It'll be a lot of exciting things happening."

Sven Clogs will have its own store in City Center during Super Bowl LIVE.

"The boots have gotten very, very big for us... the sheepskin boots because we make them with all sheepskin, everything. The sheepskin is from the U.S. and we make them all right here," President Marie Rivers said.

Rivers says they even got their local wood carver in Chisago City to make all the gnomes they'll be selling during the Super Bowl.

On Tuesday afternoon, Kimberly Tschida Petters of Vandalia Street Press was setting up her art prints and greeting cards.

"For Minnesota brands, yeah it's amazing. We're all very, very looking forward to it," she said.

North Local Market opens Friday at 4 p.m. Hours of operation can be found here.
