The Vikings will open the upcoming regular season where the last one ended, in not-always-sunny Philadelphia.

EAGAN, Minn. - The Vikings are apparently going to begin the 2018-19 season where they left off.

NBC's Pro Football Talk reports that while the NFL schedule hasn’t been released yet, a source in Philadelphia says the league will kick off the season with a Thursday night game between the Eagles and the Vikings, a rematch of last season's NFC Championship.

The Minnesota redux is probably the marquee game on the home schedule of the Super Bowl champs, because the Vikings caught the biggest fish in free agency, Kirk Cousins.

After a season dominated by news of falling television ratings, the NFL undoubtedly wanted to put a big ratings draw in the opening Thursday night slot, and the league sees Vikings-Eagles as a big one.

Here is the rest of the Vikings' 2018-19 schedule, without assigned dates.

Home: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Arizona, San Francisco, Buffalo, Miami and New Orleans.

Away: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle, New England, New York Jets, and Philadelphia.
