EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, thanks to his performance against the Packers last week.
Smith nabbed two interceptions off Brett Hundley, marking his first career multi-interception game.
He's now at five for the season, which ties his career high.
Smith also tallied seven tackles (including five solo), two pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one quarterback pressure, according to a release from the Minnesota Vikings.
This is Smith's first NFC Player of the Week award -- and the third for the team (Bradford, Week 1; Forbath, Week 7). Everson Griffin earned the October Defensive Player of the Month award and Case Keenum grabbed the November Offensive Player of the Month award.
