EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The injury report says he's doubtful, but according to his coach that classification is optimistic when it comes to tight end Kyle Rudolph's chances of playing Sunday against Cincinnati.

"No," was the sharp response from Mike Zimmer when asked if Rudolph would be able to go.

Rudolph joins cornerback Mackensie Alexander as scratches for the game, while Zimmer was a bit more optimistic on offensive tackle Reilly Reiff, who sprained his ankle against the Panthers. "Got a chance? Yeah..." Zimmer said when asked about Reiff, who practiced on a limited basis Friday.

Reiff's return would help fortify an offensive line that was battered against Carolina last Sunday. Rookie center Pat Elflein missed the game due to a shoulder injury, and tackle Mike Remmers was out as well with back issues. Both are expected to see time against the Bengals Sunday.

Linebacker Emmanuel Lamur is listed as questionable.

With Rudolph out and backup TE Blake Bell on the Injured Reserve list with a shoulder injury, the Vikings promoted Kyle Carter from the practice squad.
