WATCH: KARE 11's Dave Schwartz talks with Rooney about nerves - and the strength of the team

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea - Team USA shut out Russia today in women's ice hockey.

The win makes them 2-0 in group play going into what's expected to be a tough game against Canada on Thursday.

The youngest goalie on the team is from right here in Minnesota. And while she didn't play against Russia, Maddie Rooney may be a shoe-in for a starting spot in the medal rounds.

She started against Finland and had a fantastic game. On the team's pre-Olympic tour she had the most ice time and led the team in starts, but that doesn't mean she doesn't get nervous.

"I mean there's been nerves but kind of good nerves," she said. "I have a lot of people to look up to with the leaders and experience on this team, so they've all been great."
