MINNEAPOLIS - A full closure of I-35W north is going forward as scheduled for Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

MnDOT officials say the scheduled closure will completely shut down 35W north between Highway 62 and I-94 in Minneapolis from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Detours will steer drivers to 394, Hwy. 100 and Hwy. 62.

The closure was being decided last-minute due to snow expected Wednesday but the contractor made the call to move ahead with plans.

The project will also close the southbound lanes of 35W on Thursday night, beginning at 10 p.m. and continuing until 5 a.m. Friday.

A planned closure of the ramp from I-94W to 11th Street will also take place starting at 12:01 a.m. Monday. It was previously scheduled to close at 6 a.m. Thursday.

Crews will be starting with striping work that requires dry pavement and warm temperatures, according to MnDOT officials.
