MINNEAPOLIS -- Don't worry, it's just a test
If you a hear a tornado siren Thursday, it's because the National Weather Service is doing a drill for Severe Weather Awareness Week.
You'll hear the tornado sirens at 1:45 p.m. in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- 1:00 p.m. - Simulated tornado watch issued for Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- 1:45 p.m. - Simulated tornado warning issued for all of Wisconsin. (This includes outdoor warning siren.)
- 1:45 p.m. - Simulated tornado warning issued for Minnesota counties. (This includes outdoor warning siren.)
- 2:00 p.m. - The National Weather Service will issue an "End of Test" message using the Severe Weather Statement product.
- 6:45 p.m. - The NWS will issue another simulated tornado warning for Minnesota and Wisconsin counties.
Severe Weather Awareness Week runs from April 9-13, 2018.
