GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- The Twin Cities was recently named "No. 1 Bike City in America" by Bicycling Magazine and there is no better time to enjoy the metro area on two wheels than a Minnesota summer.
New this year is Bike Twin Cities: a non-profit community biking and social experience that includes a scavenger hunt with prizes for those who engage in the experience.
Bike Twin Cities is a combination scavenger hunt and social meet-up for the growing Twin Cities biking community. Clues will be posted at participating local businesses that point to a landmark and a paired icon along the cities' many park trails and bike lanes.
By engaging in personal health and sharing the experience, participants can become eligible for drawings for prizes including new Globe Bikes and other swag from local vendors.
"Participation is easy," explains Everspring Health president John Blaska, the creator and primary sponsor of the event. "Just register online at bike.tc and join us on Facebook and Twitter."
Just solve a clue, demonstrated by a photo of you with your bike at the intended landmark with the intended icon in the background, post it in your Bike.tc profile and that becomes your entry. Five entries will entitle participants a chance to win the grand prizes.
Bike Twin Cities continues all summer until Aug 31.
