"Over the year's we've built many homes in Guatemala, but it seems we've hardly made a difference. The needs are staggering."

After hearing of the amazing experience his daughters had on a youth mission, Jerry Turner wanted to get involved. He asked if he could go along on the next trip, but ended up leading an entire adult team. One trip to Santiago, Guatemala was all it took, and Jerry was hooked. An architect by trade, planning building projects was nothing new to Jerry. When Bridge Builders of Wooddale Church was formed in 1995 the purpose was to build cinder block homes for the local villagers, but as Jerry's passion for the program grew so did the mission.

Under Jerry's leadership Bridge Builders became a program where Americans and Guatemalans work together to make a difference. Today, they not only build homes but also provide medical care, build libraries and schools, teach, counsel, and the list continues. Bridge Builders has touched thousands of villagers around the area. Bridge Builders is a work in progress growing stronger every year, thanks to the foundation Jerry built.
