"Just knowing that I have touched the lives of others in a positive way is reward enough."
Joyce Lacey is one busy woman! The importance of volunteering was instilled in Joyce early in her childhood. At the age of five her mother encouraged her to get involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Carnival, and Joyce hasn't slowed down since.
Today Joyce shares her passion and talents with numerous community organizations. She divides her time among the MS Society, American Cancer Society, St. Paul Winter Carnival and Project Bear Hugs, just to name a few. Some of her most rewarding moments have come from visiting hospitals and sharing compassion, music and teddy bears with the patients. She is an inspiration to all.
Joyce dedicates this award to her mother, June, saying that none of this would be possible without her help. After all, her mother was the one who showed her the importance of helping others.
