MINNEAPOLIS -- Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is in need of volunteers to work on their current construction projects. The group has a third more houses in the works now than in 2010, and therefore the they need more volunteers than ever.

There are currently 29 projects going on around the metro area. Volunteers are need Tuesday - Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Volunteers need to commit to the full day, or multiple full days. But don't worry, you won't get stuck in the cold; most work being done now is indoors.

Previous construction experience is NOT required. Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity supplies the necessary tools, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own too.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult over 21.

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has created some themed build days, to group volunteers with similar interests/situtations. Themed build days are available for job seekers, coffee lovers and first time volunteers.

To register for a theme day, or any other build day, check out the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity website.

The mission of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing from the Twin Cities and to make decent, affordable shelter for all people a matter of conscience. They carry out this mission through a variety of programs, including the home ownership program.
