Diana Pierce

Diana Pierce

Diana Pierce has been a reporter and anchor for KARE 11 News since 1983. Currently, she anchors KARE11 NEWS @ 4:00pm, weekdays at 4 p.m. on television and online, as well as anchoring KARE 11 News at 5 p.m. Among her career highlights at KARE 11, she covered the 1984 GOP National Convention in Dallas, Texas. In 1985, Diana traveled to Japan where she reported on the 40th anniversary of the end of WWII. In 1989, Diana received a National Merit Achievement Award from the National Muscular Dystrophy Association for "ALS: The Joe Dilts Story." Recently, Diana was inducted into the Museum of Broadcasting's Hall of Fame. Diana is a graduate of Boston University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Belinda Jensen

Belinda Jensen

Belinda obtained her AMS Seal of Approval for broadcast meteorology and has worked for the National Weather Service. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. She has also done graduate work in secondary education through the University of Utah. She enjoys serving her community through involvement in the schools, trying to involve students, particularly girls, in science.

Julie Nelson

Julie Nelson

Julie Nelson joined KARE-11 in September of 2003, after working at KSTP-TV. Months after arriving at KSTP she was named "Best Newcomer" by Mpls/St. Paul magazine. In 2000 she won a regional Emmy for anchoring. Julie's also twice been named "Best Anchor" by City Pages. Julie received bachelor's degrees in journalism and history from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Mike Pomeranz

Mike Pomeranz

Mike is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite school of Journalism at Arizona State University. Mike has lived and worked as a reporter and anchor in Chicago, Knoxville, Tennessee, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and New York City. During his time there, he covered many large stories, including the September 11th attacks, where his station was the only network affiliate not knocked off the air. Mike has won an Edward R. Murrow award for reporting. Before news, Mike was a professional baseball player - a career that included a stint in the Minnesota Twins minor-league system. A shoulder injury ended his baseball career.

Randy Shaver

Randy Shaver

Randy is the Sports Director at KARE 11, and won a regional and a national Edward R. Murrow award for sports reporting in 2006. Randy coached a 5th grade boys basketball team representing Benilde/Holy Name to the MYAS 5AAAAAA state championship in 2007 finishing 42-8. Randy was proud to be inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004. Randy hosts the Moneygram International Randy Shaver Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. He started raising money to fight cancer before his own bout with the disease. In 2008, the tournament raised nearly $400,000.
