When I was young, I wanted to be: Jane Pauley. I know, I know. Don't roll your eyes.
Describe your perfect day: Family days are my favorite days. My 4-year-old daughter agrees. On Saturdays, she'll look at me and say, "Mommy, is it family day?" We both get very excited to have an entire day to spend together as a family.
What do you order at a coffee shop? Coffee of the day, dark roast black. I'm an addict.
Who's your idol? It's trite, but my mother. She is the most generous, kind person I know.
Favorite subjects in school: English, history, political science
Favorite sport to watch: Basketball, but let's be honest. I'm not a big sports fan. Shaver is very patient with me.
Favorite sport to play: Golf, if you can call what I do "playing."
Why do you like your job? I love my job because it affords me the opportunity to meet all kinds of people from different backgrounds and tell their stories. It is truly a privilege.
Family: Julie is married to her hometown sweetheart Kurt and they have two daughters.
