Old Relaible

December 27, 2006

Every once in a while... OK, quite often, I make a beeline for the border. I absolutely, unabashedly, love Taco Bell.

I grew up in L.A. and used to frequent the T-Bell on the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Shirley Avenue in my hometown of Tarzana. Back then it was affordable, hot, and great. Now several years later, nothing has changed.

They've come up with new slogans and chihuahuas, but the quality, speed, and tastiness remains.

Oh sure, they've made some mistakes along the way. Taking the tostada off the menu made me boycott the place for a couple months. Changing Cinamon Crispas to Cinamon Twists was and still is, an outrage.

The place is totally reliable though, and the best thing on the menu is still the plain old bean burrito. All 89 cents of it.

I like to think I have a pretty discerning palate, but sometimes cheap is the best. Yo quiero Taco Bell!
