NEW YORK - KARE 11 was honored with two National Edward R. Murrow Awards for Hard News reporting and Writing.
Huppert won his eighth National Murrow Award. This year he won for a compilation of three of his writing samples: "Alexandria Earthquake" with photojournalist Craig Norkus, "Poetry Magnate" with photojournalist Jonathan Malat, and "Duffers" with photojournalist Jonathan Malat.
KARE 11 reporter/anchor Rena Sarigianopoulos and photojournalist Gary Knox was awarded a Murrow Award for Video Reporting, Hard News for "Dramatic rise in homeless teens" which originally aired in November of 2011.

"Sharing this kind of award-winning reporting is the foundation of the KARE 11 commitment to our community."
The Murrow Awards are one of the industry's top honors and the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has been recognizing the best in broadcast journalism since 1971.
