Canterbury racing season starts

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - The horse racing season gets underway at Canterbury Park on Friday May 16. Canterbury is celebrating its 20th season.

The season wraps up on September 13.

On Saturday May 17 Canterbury will be showing the Preakness, leg two of the Triple Crown. All eyes will be on California Chrome. There has not been a triple crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.

Lee Valsvik talks with racing analyst Angele Hermann about the season. She also talks to jockey Alex Canchari and thoroughbred trainer Tony Rengstorf. She tours a stable and get a behind-the-scenes look at Canterbury.
