MINNEAPOLIS - John Samuel 'Cornbread' Harris, Sr. turned 88 this year and to help mark the milestone he has teamed up with some local organizations on a new composition, "Put the World Back Together."

Cornbread Harris, father of famed musician Jimmy Jam, wrote the song with Heritage Joyful Voices choir which is conducted by VocalEssence's Robert Graham. The choir was created as a partnership between Augustana Open Circle of Heritage Park adult day services and VocalEssence.

Augustana Open Circle-Heritage Park is part of a new VocalEssence program called Vintage Voices that brings the arts into the lives of older adults creating choirs at senior centers and assisted living communities.

Harris wrote the song after getting tired of news stories of violence and cruelty. The song was performed at the Heritage Park Senior Services Center.
