Minn. contestant on 'The Voice' thankful for hometown support

LOS ANGELES -- Singer Kat Perkins says she is grateful for the support she has received from hometown fans in Minnesota while she competes on NBC's "The Voice."

During the Playoff round on Monday, coach Adam Levine chose Perkin to be one of three singers on his team to advance to the live shows.

Perkins performed the song "Open Arms" by Journey. She said the song best proves why she deserves to be one of the top 12 contestants -- and it worked.
