Glensheen murder musical at Histrory Theatre

MINNEAPOLIS - The 1977 murder at Duluth's historic Glensheen mansion captivated the state's attention for years and it is now the subject of a new musical.

Starting this weekend, you can see the new musical "Glensheen" at History Theatre in St. Paul.

Many are familiar with the story behind what happened inside the mansion in 1977, when Elisabeth Congdon was suffocated in her bed. Her nurse was beaten to death on the staircase.

Police arrested Congdon's adopted daughter Marjorie Congdon along with her husband, Roger Caldwell. Marjorie Congdon was aquitted. Caldwell ultimately confessed and committed suicide.

Playwright Jeffrey Hatcher joined KARE-11 News@ 4 to talk about the production.
