My America" is an open call for people to share their own personal American experience. The goal is toinspire a more loving, inclusive nation."

The Penumbra Theatre Company and Minnesota Public Radio News are teaming up to ignite conversation about the 2016 November general election.

“Let's Talk: Voting Rights” happening Monday, October 24 is aimed at increasing voter participation in one of St. Paul's most economically and racially diverse neighborhoods, and is now sold out.

People can listen to the discussion live on MPR News beginning at 7 p.m. Check your local listings for a complete list of stations or visit mpr.org.

The campaign is called "Precinct 8 Pride". Penumbra is located inside the Hallie Q. Brown/Martin Luther King Center which serves as the polling station for Precinct 8.

Penumbra’s “Let’s Talk” series creates space for challenging conversations about issues of social justice, equity, and the arts.

Currently, there are approximately 600 unregistered voters in Precinct 8.

On Election Day, Penumbra will lead volunteers, staff and artists on two door-knocking events to register voters in its neighborhood.
