'People of Color Career Fair' aims to help close the gap

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Gov. Mark Dayton is calling on state employers, local business owners and nonprofit groups to attend a special one-day innovative networking event aimed at showcasing talented minority professionals for employment.

The "People of Color Career Fair" is Tuesday, Oct.18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center
in downtown Minneapolis.

Attendees will meet with hiring managers and decision makers representing some of Minnesota’s top employers.

Organizers recommend jobseekers bring at least 10 copies of their resume.

Admission is free. Registration is encouraged. Metro Transit is providing free rides to the career fair.
