MINNEAPOLIS - Dog-lovers, it’s your chance to walk your fluffy best friend and do some good at the same time.
The “Strut Your Mutt” Walk, organized by the Best Friends Animal Society, is a fundraising event that includes interactive activities for owners and their pooches.
The goal of the walk is to raise money for local animal welfare organizations and shelters.
According to the Minnesota Humane Society, half of all dogs and cats in county shelters are put to sleep.
The odds are worse for older animals and those with health problems.
“Strut Your Mutt” is happening on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Wolfe Park in St. Louis Park.
KARE 11’s Melissa Colorado will be hosting the event, along with her 1-year-old mutt, Sota, who was adopted from Safe Hands Rescue.
