GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Many of us were inspired by the Disney movie, Cool Runnings, depicting the resilience of the Jamaican Bobsled Team in the 1988 Calgary Olympics.

With no more John Candy around, this time it’s your turn to help make Cool Runnings a reality again by supporting the Jamaican bobsled team’s crowd-funding campaign to raise much needed funds to reach the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, at http://www.jamaicabobsled.com/.

The funds you donate will go directly to helping the Jamaican Bobsled team with travel and living expenses while abroad, purchasing equipment, transporting their sled and applying for the necessary travel visa’s for wherever they train outside Jamaica.

Want to meet the Bobsled team in person? You and the family/friends are invited to the campaign’s launch party, Saturday, October 22, 12 – 2 p.m., at Pimento Jamaican Kitchen, Burnsville Center, or at their Eat Street location (2524 Nicollet Avenue S) at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
