GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Ever wonder how accurate your fitness tracker really is? New research shows wearable fitness trackers actually do a good job of counting steps and testing heart rates, but they’re not great at counting calories. In fact, researchers say they can be anywhere from 20% to 93% off, and that’s can be bad news for those counting on their trackers to help them lose weight.

Steve Moore, an exercise physiologist and Health Coach at the Penny George Institute LiveWell Fitness Center, stopped by the show today to discuss how we can accurately gauge calories burned, as well as the best ways to use these popular electronic devices as part of a healthy diet and exercise routine.
