GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Families Helping Families Crush Hunger campaign, a new partnership between Feeding America and Red Gold Tomatoes, is underway. The month-long program is aimed at helping curb hunger for the estimated 42 million people who don't know where their next meal is coming from.
Minneapolis author and blogger Alice Seuffert joined the KARE 11 News at 4 to discuss the effort.
Red Gold is harnessing the power of families helping families by giving its customers an opportunity to help those in need simply by encouraging them to share a Red Gold family meal. There are three ways for families to participate:
Go to a store and purchase Red Gold, Redpack, Tuttorosso or Sacramento canned tomato products, and Red Gold will donate the equivalent of one meal to Feeding America food banks for each product purchased.
If you’re sharing a meal with your family, or doing something to help crush hunger, share it on social media using the hashtag #HelpCrushHunger for a chance to win a Red Gold family meal kit and a $100 dollar donation to your local food bank!
Donate to or volunteer with your local food bank.
