New book helps families deal with cancer diagnosis

Mama's Knight: A Cancer Story of Love

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it won’t be long before the holiday season begins. This is without a doubt a tough time of year for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis, especially those with young children.

Now there is a resource available that makes this difficult task more manageable. St. Louis Park resident and author Aurora Whittet has written Mama's Knight: A Cancer Story of Love. Inspired by her own experience of losing her own mother to cancer, the book is customizable for moms so they can use it to explain cancer to their children. The book has been endorsed locally by Minnesota Oncology.

“Mama's Knight: A Cancer Story of Love”, officially launches on Sun., November. 13 with a public party at the Dunn Brothers “Freight House” in Minneapolis (2301 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55401). The party goes from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
