GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - We launched a charity vote on 11-11-11 and asked viewers to vote for their favorite charity to receive an $11,000 grant from the Gannett Foundation.
After six days and over 18,000 votes were tabulated, the winner was The Liz Logelin Foundation. Matt Logelin joined KARE 11 Sunrise live from Los Angeles Thursday morning.
The Liz Logelin Foundation (LLF) helps widows and widowers with young families. Matt started the foundation after his wife Liz died the day after giving birth to their daughter.
LLF also received a $1,100 gift card from GiveMN.org thanks to an essay submitted by Brooke Gullikson.
