MINNEAPOLIS - KARE 11's concussion discussion continued Friday night during the Prep Sports Extra.
Nineteen-year-old Matt Hovila of Bloomington, a student at the University of Minnesota, talked with KARE 11 Sports Director Randy Shaver about the lingering effects of eight concussions.
Matt, who was a captain of the Bloomington Jefferson boys' basketball team his senior year, talked about how he suffered his first concussion in the 4th grade and how the injuries led to problems in middle school and eventually ended his dreams of playing college basketball.
Matt says he must get additional help with his studies because of his multiple concussions.
