MINNEAPOLIS -- Join Children's Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday, June 23 at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park for their 10th annual HeartBeat 5000.
HeartBeat 5000 is a 5K walk/run that benefits the cardiovascular program at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. This event has raised more than $1.4 million dollars, and Children's of Minnesota hopes to raise an additional $275,000 in 2012.
Registration is now open until June 21. The event is limited to 3,000 people so gather your family, friends and coworkers to assist Children's in funding the care for cardiovascular patients. Celebrate with Children's physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers on the continued quality of life provided by innovation and technology.
Event details include an adult and children's 5K run/walk, Kid's Fun Run, the chance to meet CHildren's Heart Clinic physicians and staff, free kids activities including bounce houses, crafts, games, face painting, a dance party and more, and $1 parking.
Proceeds from this event help fund medical equipment, educational materials for newly diagnosed families, parking passes, and car seats for patients cared for by Children's cardiovascular program.
Children's Hopsitals and Clinics of Minnesota has one of the largest cardiovascular programs in the region. Their panel of esteemed staff cares for nearly two-thirds of pediatric patients hospitalized for cardiac surgery in the Twin Cities metro area.
