GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- The 2010 Toys for Tots collection is underway at KARE 11.
The Toys for Tots tent at KARE 11's studios in Golden Valley will be open daily through Sunday, Dec. 19. Marines will be on hand to accept donations from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. There are numerous other drop off locations across the Twin Cities too.
KARE 11 will broadcast live from the Toys for Tots tent during most evening newscasts.

The national Toys for Tots program was started by the US Marine Corps Reserves in 1947. KARE 11 has been partnering with the Marines for over 25 years. In 2009, the Twin Cities program collected over 350,000 toys for local children in need. The Twin Cities program is the 3rd largest in the country.
