Kelly Anderson has no trouble taking charge, but she's the first to admit that she's still working on being in-charge.
Says Kelly, "Some people are more social, other people just want the direct answer, and so that was just one thing I really had to learn how to do was learn how to adapt to people, to really get the best out of people."
Kelly's had no trouble getting the best out of herself. A senior at Maranatha Christian Academy, Kelly's in her second year as president of the Student Council. She's also in her second year as president of the National Honor Society, and she was captain of the volleyball team.
Amy Bianchi-Rossi serves as Dean of Students at Maranatha, "She is an amazing young lady who is, I hate to use the word decisive leader, but that's what she is."
Kelly's 4.37 GPA is supplemented participation in the school's drama and "Adventure" clubs. But, it was her experience on mission trips to Mexico, and most recently Guatemala that have had the greatest influence on her young life.
"I was able to see the surgeries and I feel like that is where I am called to go, Says Kelly. To become a surgeon is my ultimate goal, and then also to take my skills and knowledge and help people who are less fortunate."
Noble aspirations from a young woman who's ready to take charge, because she feels she already knows who really is in charge.
"Ultimately I feel like I'm here on this earth to serve God and that is my ultimate mission and so, whatever I do, whether it's working at school, doing homework, whether it's hanging out with friends or leading an NHS meeting, I truly do it for his glory."
