GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.- It's a statement that has caused eye-rolls among children for generations: "Listen to your Mother." However, it is also the title of a show celebrating mothers and it's making it's way across the U-S.
"Listen To Your Mother Twin Cities"" features live readings by local writers on the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested of motherhood, in celebration of Mother's Day.
Tracy Morrison, co-director/co-producer of "Listen to your Mother Twin Cities" and Lucy Gerold with the Jeremiah Program joined us on KARE 11 News @ 4 with details about the show.
According to Morrison, the project was born of the creative work of mothers who publish on-line. Each vignette is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities.
On May 8th the Twin Cities show will be held at 7 p.m. at the historic Riverview Theatre in Minneapolis. It's a series of live readings in 32 U.S. cities by local authors.
A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Jeremiah Program, a program that helps single moms.
