Celebrate 'Older Americans Month'

Lori Vrolson the Executive Director of the Central MN Council on Aging talks about this year's theme "Aging Out Loud."

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -  Each May we celebrate 'Older American's Month' and this year the theme is "Age Out Loud."

Lori Vrolson, Executive Director of the Central Minnesota Council on Aging, talked about this year's theme and how getting older doesn't mean what it used to mean.

Older Americans are working longer, staying more active, and engaging in their communities in meaningful ways. They are advocating for their own health and focused on staying independent.

The Minnesota Board on Aging’s Senior LinkAge Line is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Experts will take phone calls on a variety of aging-related topics. The toll-free number to call is 1-800-333-2433.
