GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Grassroots initiatives to help expand families’ knowledge of end-of-life options for aging adults and dying loved ones are growing nationwide.

Death expert Dr. Karen Wyatt, M.D., has a new book, "What Really Matters: 7 Lessons for Living from the Stories of the Dying."

It contains stories of patients Wyatt cared for as a hospice doctor and the spiritual lessons she learned from them at the end of their lives.

Dr. Wyatt also hosts “End-of-Life University”, an online interview series that features conversations with experts who work in all aspects of end-of-life care.

On Thursday, May 19, Dr. Wyatt will be the featured guest at a special event in the Twin Cities. “New Death and Dying: An Evening with Dr. Karen Wyatt" is from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the SpringHouse Ministry Center in Minneapolis. Attendees will learn about evolving end-of-life options and choices available.

Participants will also be introduced to local organizations and green burial networks who offer innovative services and support.

Tickets cost $20.dollars. The public is invited.
