Kosher cuisine for kids

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- The Jewish holiday of Passover has begun and many families will be participating in the traditional Seder.

Cantor Mitch, author of 'Kosher Cuisine For A New Generation,' joined us on KARE 11 Saturday with a great recipe idea for the kiddos.

Matzah Pizza

Ingredients:

1 piece Matzah

½ cup Marinara sauce

½ cup Kosher for Passover mozzarella cheese

Optional veggie choices include:

2 sliced mushrooms

¼ diced onion

½ diced zucchini

Italian seasoning

Olive oil

Directions:

1. Preheat broiler

2. Pan sear the veggies in a bit of olive oil

3. Spread Marinara sauce on the Matzah

4. Add the veggies on top

5. Sprinkle with cheese and Italian seasoning

6. Broil for 1 minute or until cheese melts

7. Cut in half and serve

Matzah Pizza Alfredo

Ingredients:

1 piece Matzah

½ cup Alfredo sauce

½ cup Kosher Passover cheese

Optional veggies:

½ cup chopped fresh spinach

2 sliced mushrooms

Garlic powder to sprinkle

1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions:

1. Preheat broiler

2. Pan sear veggies in olive oil for 1 minute

3. Spread Alfredo sauce on the Matzah

4. Spread veggies over the top

5. Sprinkle with garlic powder and top with cheese

6. Broil for 1 minute or until cheese melts

7. Cut in half and serve
