MINNEAPOLIS - The Friends of Loring Park have a great planting event Saturday, May 12, at 9 a.m. The Loring Park Gardens - including the Loring Garden of Seasons - are gems in the heart of the city. The group established these beautiful gardens in 1999 and it is supported financially through donor funds and a volunteer workforce.
The garden provides a safe and therapeutic haven in the middle of the large urban part off downtown Minneapolis. Thirty regular volunteers tend the garden every second Saturday from April to October. Four hundred volunteer hours are logged every season.
The Friends of Loring Park would love for more people to find out about the program and get gardening with this great group. More information about the group can be found on their website.
