GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Our planet is facing a water crisis. Americans have water when we turn on the tap but many in the world do not. The reasons are part environmental, political, and economic.
While nearly 70 percent of the world is covered by water, only 2.5 percent of it is fresh.
Someone who is trying to help where it's not fresh is David Christof.
Christof is running 21 marathons between January and June 2015 to raise awareness about the world water crisis. On the way, he is stopping at 21 schools to educate the students about the world water crisis.
While doing all this, he is fundraising for two schools in Uganda. He is hoping to raise $21,000 to build two wells and help the children go to school. You can support him by donating to his Water is Life facebook page.
David is a native of the Czech Republic, but does have ties to Minnesota. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from St. Cloud State University.
