Lela's mixing up fresh ideas for cocktail hour

Lela in Bloomington is mixing up some fresh inspiration for cocktail hour.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. Looking to mix up your next happy hour. We picked up some inspiration from Lela, the neighborhood restaurant and bar at the intersection of 494 and 100 in Bloomington. The popular eatery and bar, is serving up a brand new happy hour from 3-6 and 9-11 p.m.

On the bites side, they are offering Lobster Deviled Egg, Shrimp Cocktail and Arugula Simple Salad for $3; Brussels Caesar Salad, Mac & Cheese, Pommes Frites, Dumplings, Salmon Croquette and Margherita Flatbread for $5 and Ceviche de Pulpo, Beef Carpaccio, Fire Grilled Shrimp; Empanadas, Meatball, Sweet and Spicy Wings for $7.

They have created four signature cocktails for $8 each; and are offering a selection of wines at $6, $8 and $10 a glass. All beers are $2 off draft and bottles.

Here's a sample of one of Basilico, one of their signature cocktails. The recipe for the cocktail is:

1oz strawberry puree

1oz ginger syrup

1oz lemon juice

2oz Prairie Gin

Ginger beer

Basil

Technique- Pour all ingredients (excluding ginger beer) into a Boston glass. Shake vigorously and strain into a highball glass top with ice. Slowly pour ginger beer over top of cocktail. Garnish with Basil and Strawberry
