GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The holidays can be a difficult time for seniors who are unable to spend time with their family and friends.
In fact, some feel isolated and are at greater risk for loneliness, anxiety and depression.
Home Instead Senior Care, which provides personalized care, support and education to help enhance the lives of aging adults and their families, is looking for volunteers to bring holiday cheer to area seniors through its Be a Santa to a Senior program.
Holiday shoppers are encouraged to visit one of several Be a Santa to a Senior trees on display in the Twin Cities from now until Dec. 9, 2017.

The Christmas trees will be decorated with paper ornaments featuring seniors’ first names and their desired gifts
Six area fire department relief programs will pick up and deliver the gifts to local seniors in time for the holidays.
