ST. CLOUD - Former Rocori Superintendent Scott Staska is facing eight new counts of indecent exposure in connection with incidents that happened in St. Cloud between November and February.

The charges - filed Thursday in Stearns County District Court - come on top of 10 counts of indecent exposure filed last week for incidents in Waite Park.

New criminal complaints outlining the misdemeanor charges cite eight incidents that reportedly occurred at two gas stations in St. Cloud, and two stores inside Crossroads Center.

The earliest reported incidents were at Kwik Trip on 6250 Stearns County Road 120, where an employee told police Staska came to the store four times between Nov. 17-23 and each time his pants button was fastened but his zipper was down.

"(The employee) states (Staska) played it off as if nothing was hanging out, but was friendly," the complaint states. When the employee told him to "put that away" and leave the store, Staksa reportedly apologized and "advised he had been swimming with his family and did not know his zipper was down."

A separate complaint states he reportedly returned to that store once between Feb. 25-March 3 and approached the counter with his zipper down.

Court documents say Staska also entered the Kwik Trip at 725-44th Ave. N on Feb. 18 with his fly down. An employee told police the man "drew attention to the open zipper as he was standing in different positions shifting around," the complaint states.

The Kwik Trip employee also told police she "felt really sick and threw up after (Staska) left."

Two misdemeanor counts stem from a Feb. 11 incident at Crossroads Center, where Staska reportedly visited Rue 21 and Lids.

According to court documents:

A Rue 21 employee told police she agreed to help a man take a sensor off a pair of shoes he had purchased at Sears. She said the man left then returned to the store with the shoes and receipt.

"As she was attempting to remove the sensor, (the employee) observed (Staska's) jeans were buttoned, but the zipper was down and his penis could be seen from top to bottom," the complaint states. "(The employee) stated she kind of panicked, backed away, and went to ask her manager to help (him)."

The manager then referred the man to a different store that might have the device needed to remove the sensor.

He then reportedly went to Lids where an employee saw his zipper was down. The employee told police employees at Rue 21 called him in advance to warn him of the indecent exposure and that he then told Staska his zipper was down.

The Lids employee told police he then went to speak with the Rue 21 employees, when Staska "came into the store and apologized to the employees there. (The Lids employee) stated it was an uncomfortable situation."

Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Staska is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment for the St. Cloud and Waite Park charges on May 15.
