Amped Up: Easy ways to eat more fruits and veggies

Some great tips to get more fruits and veggies into your diet.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A new study by the Center for Disease Control says that only one in 10 Americans are eating the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables. Federal guidelines suggest eating 1 1/2 to 2 cups of fruit and 2 to 3 cups of vegetables each day.

CobornsDelivers dietician Emily Parent has some great tips to get the people amounts of fruits and veggies into their diets.

Sun-dried Tomato Turkey Roll-Ups (recipe adapted from Fit Foodie Finds) =1 cup veggies
• 4 basil leaves
• 2 T sun-dried tomato paste
• 1 cup spinach
• 1 slice provolone cheese, halved
• 2 slices lower sodium turkey
• 1 large tortilla (whole wheat)
First, spread 2 tablespoons of sun-dried tomato paste on your tortilla. Then, top it with turkey slices and cheese. Finally add on fresh spinach and basil leaves. Roll up, slice, and enjoy!
