EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The backup-to-blowup story of Vikings QB Case Keenum continues to grow, after he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November.
Keenum, a journeyman who has started games for several NFL clubs but never stuck, was thrust into the lead role with Minnesota after then-starter Sam Bradford injured his week during week one. He has since led the Vikings to a 9-2 record.

— Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) November 30, 2017In November Keenum was 69 of 97 in passing attempts for 866 yards and seven touchdowns. He threw just two interceptions, and finished with a passer rating of 114.0 while being sacked just twice. He did all this in just three games due to the Vikings having a bye week off.
The Houston graduate is the second Viking to win player of the month honors this year. DE Everson Griffin won Defensive Player of the Month honors in October.
Still, not everyone is sold. In a USA Today article assessing young quarterbacks Keenum was listed in the "Needs help" to succeed category. "See what a quality system, nice weapons and a strong defense can do?," wrote columnist Mike Jones. "Keenum was deemed a below-average journeyman prior to this season. After taking over for an injured Sam Bradford, he is 8-2 as a starter and now on a seven-game win streak."
