MINNEAPOLIS - A second man has been charged in the fatal shooting death of a 20-year-old man and a 7-month-old baby in south MInneapolis.
Rashad Austin, 25, of Minneapolis, is charged with aiding an offender after authorities say he was an accomplice to the shooting on Oct. 9 that killed Gustav Christianson II and Jayden Redden.
According to the charges, Austin was in the car with 17-year-old J'Quan LeeArthur McInnis, who is charged as an adult with first-degree murder and is currently in custody, right before and after the shooting.
During the investigation, officers learned Austin was helping McInnis with tickets in order to leave town. Charges say Austin even helped remove those items from McInnis' bag before law enforcement took them into evidence.
Authorities say McInnis later told Austin to reach out to other witnesses, who had been cooperating, and urge them not to speak to police.
The county attorney's office is requesting Austin be held on a $1 million bail.
