MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, Minn. - After the overwhelming success of the Kenny Chesney show at Target Field last summer, the folks who manage the Twins ballpark figured an encore show would be a slam dunk.
But a sellout in just 30 minutes? Probably beyond their expectations.
Tickets for Chesney's "No Shoes Nation' Tour" show on Friday, July 12 went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday and were gone by 10:30. Fans who were unable to secure tickets are asked to check back at the Twins website as a limited number of seats may be released by the promoter for public sale in the coming months.
"Kenny Chesney's performance in last summer's inaugural concert at Target Field was historic and unforgettable on so many fronts," said Dave St. Peter, Twins President. "We expect this to be another great concert at Target Field, a place on its way to becoming the best outdoor music venue in the region."
In fact, the Twins may be working on another huge event for Target Field. St. Peter tweeted that officials are in talks with representatives for Sir Paul McCartney to get the former Beatle to come to Minneapolis and play the showcase ballpark.
In addition to Chesney, the "No Shoes Nation" concert at Target Field will include the GRAMMY Award winning Zac Brown Band, whose latest album "Uncaged" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 along with Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves.
