RED WING, Minn. - The State Patrol says one person was killed when a semi truck lost control and struck multiple vehicles in Goodhue County Sunday afternoon.
The semi was traveling south on Highway 61 just before 12:30 p.m. when it lost control and struck two cars traveling north near Wacouta Road.
Officials says 21-year-old Justin J. Breza of Winona died at the scene. Breza was a passenger in one of the vehicles and was traveling with his parents.
The driver of the semi, a 63-year-old man from Blaine, was taken to Fairview Hospital in Red Wing. At this time his condition is unknown.
A couple from Hastings was in the other vehicle struck by the semi. They were both taken to Fairview Hospital in Red Wing as well; their conditions are not known.
The Red Wing Fire Department and Goodhue County Sheriff's Office assisted with this incident.
